We offer a variety of training services, including obedience training, agility training, and behavior modification.
Our training sessions typically last between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the type of training and the needs of the dog.
Yes, we offer in-home training services for dogs that require more personalized attention and training in their own environment.
All dogs should come to class with a harness or flat collar and leash. No flexi leashes, shock collars, pinch collars, choke collars or any fear/ pain based techniques are used.
Come prepared with your pup's favorite training treats. We recommend something soft and smelly.
Socialization is so important for growing puppies. We follow the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommendation of starting puppies in group classes as early as 8 weeks old, before they are fully vaccinated. We do require puppies to have their 1st round of vaccinations(Parvo/Distemper) and Kennel Cough (Bordetella).
The clicker serves as a "marker" for your dog, signaling the moment a desired behavior occurs. Your dog associates the clicking with a reward, such as a treat or toy. Using a clicker increases the attentiveness of the dog, improves timing, and helps the dog to learn faster and retain the knowledge longer.
Dogs 6 months and older that are training at our facility must show proof of Rabies, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Distemper/Parvo. Proof is usually found on your last vet bill and may be submitted online or handed to a trainer at your first visit.
We do require puppies to have their 1st round of vaccinations(Parvo/Distemper) and Kennel Cough (Bordetella).
Puppies 6 months and younger should start with our Puppy Manners class. Dogs 6 months and older start in Beginner Obedience, followed by Intermediate then Advanced.
We offer 4 week classes such as Behave! and Advanced prep for those wanting to work on skills before heading into the next obedience class.
Generally speaking training a dog from a puppy will take about a year and half. There are many factors to this such as maturity, age, breed and temperament. Consistency, PATIENCE and positive reinforcement are essential for successful dog training. We offer different level obedience classes to match your dog’s developmental stages and needs.
Therapy Dog testing is offered once a year in the late spring. Check out our Advanced prep and Advanced Obedience and Therapy Dog Prep classes to help you and your pup prepare.
We offer the Canine Good Citizenship test in our Advanced Obedience class.
Classes that allow your dog to have fun while being challenged are a great way to build confidence. We will show you how to properly reinforce your dog to build their confidence up. These classes are also a great way to continue to socialize your dog with people and other dogs. We offer Agility, Intro to Agility, Go Find! Trick Training, Doggie Mind Games, Canine Communication, and Rally. All are great choices to build confidence.
