    Why Private Training

Personalized Training, With Options That Fit Your Life

Sometimes a group class isn't the right starting point. Maybe you'd like one-on-one help while you work alongside your dog. Maybe your dog would benefit from focused training sessions with a professional trainer. Or maybe you're dealing with a behavior that needs more individual attention.

Private training at Patience Inspired Dog Training gives us the flexibility to look at your dog, your goals, and your situation—and help you choose the approach that makes the most sense.

You don't need to figure out which option you need before contacting us. Tell us what's going on, and we'll help you find the right place to start.

    What We Work On

What Can We Work On Together?

Is Day Training Right for You & Your Dog?

Day Training can be a great option when you want your dog to have concentrated, one-on-one learning time with a trainer while still making sure you know how to carry those skills forward.

That last part matters. Your dog may do some of the learning during the drop-off sessions, but training doesn't stop when the session ends.

The program includes progress notes along the way and a private session with you, your dog, and your trainer after the drop-off sessions so you can understand what your dog has learned and how to continue supporting those skills.

Not Sure What Kind of Training You Need? Good News: You Don't Have to Be.

One of the hardest parts of looking for dog-training help is trying to decide what to book. Is this an obedience problem? A behavior problem? Do you need an assessment? A private lesson? A training package?

That's our job to help you figure out. Start by telling us about your dog, what's been happening, and what you'd like to improve. We'll review that information and guide you toward the training option that makes the most sense.

    The Process

    How Do We Get Started?

    1

    Tell Us About Your Dog

Start by contacting us. Let us know what's been happening, what you'd like help with, and what you'd like life with your dog to look like.

    2

We'll Help You Choose the Right Path

You don't need to know whether you should book private one-on-one training, Day Training, a behavioral assessment, or another option. We'll review your needs and help you determine the most appropriate starting point.

    3

    Your Training Plan Is Personalized

If private training is the right fit, we'll focus on the skills and concerns that matter for your dog rather than putting every dog through the same program. For Day Training, the program begins with a one-hour in-person evaluation and includes a customized training plan followed by four focused 3.5-hour drop-off sessions.

    4

We Help You Carry the Training Forward

Good training shouldn't disappear when the trainer leaves. For traditional private training, we'll give you practical strategies you can continue using between sessions. For Day Training, you'll receive progress notes following the drop-off sessions and finish with a private session with your trainer and dog to review progress and the techniques learned.

    Our Approach

Training That Builds Skills Without Sacrificing Trust

We believe dogs learn best when training is clear, thoughtful, and rooted in positive reinforcement. That means looking at more than whether a dog is doing the "right" thing in the moment.

We want to understand what your dog needs in order to learn and help you build communication that makes sense on both ends of the leash.

We do not rely on shock collars, prong collars, choke collars, or fear- and pain-based training methods. Instead, we focus on teaching, reinforcing useful behavior, building confidence, and helping dogs and their people succeed together.
