Positive Reinforcement • Experienced Trainers • Coventry, Rhode Island

Every dog-and-handler team has different goals.
Some are starting with puppy foundations. Some want better everyday obedience. Some need additional support around distractions or reactivity. And some are ready to jump, sniff, search, rally, trick-train, or simply try something new together.
That's why PIDT offers several different styles of classes, clinics, and ongoing activities. Use the sections below to help you quickly find the type of training that fits you.
Start with the foundations, then keep building confidence and reliability as you and your dog progress. Group classes are structured as closed groups with defined start and end dates rather than rolling enrollment—so dogs and people learn together in a consistent environment. Jump to classes
Start with the foundations, then keep building confidence and reliability as you and your dog progress. PIDT offers a few different ways to learn. Here's how the formats compare so you know what you're signing up for.
Many are closed groups with defined start and end dates. This allows people and dogs to get to know one another, build familiarity, develop friendships, and learn within a more consistent environment.
These may follow a different recurring or bookable format, so they're more flexible than the closed multi-week series.
Shorter opportunities focused on a specific skill or activity—perfect when you don't need a full class series.
Individual practice or enrichment time rather than trainer-led group instruction. A great way to keep skills sharp on your own schedule.

We believe learning should strengthen the relationship between dogs and their people. Our trainers use positive reinforcement and science-informed teaching to help dogs understand what we want, build confidence, and practice useful skills in an environment designed for learning.
We do not rely on shock collars, prong collars, choke collars, or fear- and pain-based training methods. The goal is not simply to get through a class—it's to give you skills you can carry into everyday life together.
You don't need to study the whole class catalog before reaching out.
Tell us about your dog, what training you've already done, and what you'd like to work on. We'll help you figure out whether the best next step is a group class, specialty class, clinic, private training, Day Training, or another PIDT option.
